Q&A with Lisette

Why did you decide to embark on wedding planning?
I enjoy the details and fast-paced environment of wedding planning. I love assisting with the vision of the wedding. It's such a spectacular experience to be a part of.

What is your best piece of advice for the bride and groom on their big day?
Enjoy your moment!

What is the most memorable wedding you've planned?
I recently had the honor of hosting a really fantastic New Orleans theme wedding celebration where the centerpieces were actually altars to various deities. It was a fun twist on the traditional with dramatic artwork, bursts of vibrant colors and of course Mardi Gras beads! It was such a fun planning process and wonderful to see their family and friends enjoy their creativity.

Someone recommended this to me, and I am so glad I did it. Step away from the party when it’s in full swing. Watch the fun going on all around you….all your favorite people in one room celebrating your commitment and love to each other….a pretty amazing moment! Then kiss :)

Q&A with Jennifer

What is your best piece of advice for the bride and groom on their big day?
First to remember that today is about YOU and your life together, all those friends and family are here to celebrate the start of your life together. Second…get GREAT vendors, they are the backbone of your wedding day and having a great team ensures that you are able to be a guest at your wedding.

What is the most memorable wedding you've planned?
My own! I am currently planning for my own wedding and for the first time in 20 years I am on the other side of things which is at times really very fun and also a bit humbling. It’s given me a great perspective in to some of the challenges that my clients have faced.

Q&A with Amanda

What is your best piece of advice for the bride and groom on their big day?
Please eat, get great vendors and remember to soak in the moment as it goes by so quickly.

What is the most unique detail you've ever seen at a wedding?
A Banzai toast – it’s specific to Japanese Americans from Hawaii, so fun! Banzai means 10,000 years of life and consists of two toasts, (it’s more like a shout actually) in Japanese. After each toast everyone cheers, “Banzai!” in unison, raising their arms and glasses with each cheer and sipping their drink afterwards.

What is the most memorable wedding you've planned?
My own! Pardon the pun, but it’s such a different experience being on the other side of the veil!
