Southern California Meeting Resorts with Hotel Meeting Services and Programs

Designed to encourage guests to explore uncharted paths in their busy and stressful lives, the Short Courses in Better Living offer little peeks into collectible experiences that can make long term differences.

Tasting Wine Like a Pro
Drinking wine is easy, but actually tasting it is more of a challenge, requiring technique and experience. This introduction to wine tasting provides guests with a better understanding of different wine varieties, how smell, color and temperature affect the way wine tastes and what foods pair well with certain wines. The most important lesson: there's no right or wrong, it's your enjoyment that really counts.

Golf: The Name of the Game
Intimidated by the game and know that deals and relationships can be made and lost on the course? This Short Course doesn't promise a hole-in-one but is a way to get comfortable with the game and its etiquette. You'll gain expertise in addressing the ball, how to best use a caddie, when to take a penalty stroke, finesse the flagstick and what to do about a lost ball.

Horseback Riding: Life's A Cinch
The essence of this class centers on gaining confidence and composure. How, you ask? By getting comfortable around a large animal, knowing how to take care of it and how to handle it. In this class guests will learn to catch a horse in the paddock, secure it to the tie rail, groom it and select the right tack. Then there's controlling your horse with reins and boots on a ride and eventually developing mutual respect.

Aromatherapy: Essential Oils from A to Z
In this introduction to one of the oldest methods of holistic healing, guests will explore the properties of various essential oils and learn which are stimulating and uplifting, and which are soothing and relaxing. Guests will blend their own oils and will receive personalized recipes to use at home.
