Engineer I

The Engineer I assists Engineer’s II and III and conducts minor repairs and maintenance on plumbing, physical structure, electrical fixtures, machinery, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, spa, kitchen and laundry equipment. This candidate must be comfortable using hand, power, electrical, and plumbing tools. They will complete work orders as assigned by supervisor, respond immediately to guest room maintenance requests, respond to emergencies, and perform necessary assignments to ensure guest and employee safety.

Olivella Restaurant Host

The new signature California - Italian restaurant Olivella is seeking Hosts. While the restaurant will demonstrate a level of refinement consistent with our 5 Diamond rating, the culinary and service program and service shall remain comfortable and approachable. The restaurant will operate for dinner only, Wednesday - Sunday (subject to change). Ideal candidates for the following roles have several years of experience in highly regarded resorts and/or restaurants. Experience in a fine dining setting with California or Italian influences are viewed favorably. The Olivella Host is responsible for providing exemplary service at Olivella. This individual acts not only as a Host, but also attends to guest services and the upkeep of cleanliness of the Host Stand and Entrance. With a very high degree of guest contact, the Olivella Host is ideally positioned to enhance the guest experience and plays an essential role in the resort’s goal of exceeding high guest expectations. Remaining constantly aware of both the restaurant and Bar environments, engaging with guests, anticipating their needs and taking initiative to improve their stay will be focus areas for the Olivella Host. Minimum two (2) years hosting experience, preferably in the hotel industry and or upscale establishment. Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette. Must have ability to lift 15-45 lbs and stand for a 6-8 hour shift. Must possess excellent people skills, professional appearance, and be a team player. Must have ability to read, write, and speak in English. Banquet Server

The Banquet Server must be knowledgeable in all Banquet areas and is responsible for providing exemplary service in the Banquets and Catering department.

Indigo Pool Attendant

The Indigo  Pool Attendant responsible for greeting arriving guests, welcoming them and seating them in the Indigo Pool Restaurant. They will also assist in clearing and resetting tables, refreshing drinks, and responsible for set up and break down of the pool area.


Minimum one (1) year of food bussing experience, preferably in the hotel industry and or upscale establishment. Sales Agent

The Sales Agent must be confident and enjoy making the sale by balancing their savvy sales technique and a gracious warm style of guest service that needs to be delivered. They must be comfortable handling high call volume, answering incoming sales and reservation calls in accordance with AAA Five Diamond standards. They assist guests in making their reservations through creating personalized experiences. Detail accuracy, completeness and multi-tasking are necessities to book and sell property activities including Spa, Golf, Resort Activities and Food & Beverage. Also contacts guests prior to arrival to ensure completion of the guest experience. Must be able to work cohesively as part of a team in completing tasks such as Next Day Arrival process, reservations booked, and assists in finalizing and communicating details of the guest’s stay internally. Minimum one (1) year sales experience, resort reservations or related experience a bonus, but not pertinent. Requires prior experience in a high volume and sales atmosphere. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Ability to perform basic arithmetic. Warm and welcoming demeanor and exceptional phone etiquette. Must have an outgoing personality, be friendly, courteous and enjoy working with people. Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding and difficult customer situations. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments. Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel). Reservations Experience Planner

This position is responsible for contacting guests who have booked via telephone & internet to provide high quality assistance with customizing guest itineraries and scheduling, including, but not limited to Spa, Golf, and Restaurant Reservations. Coordinates reservations with outside vendors and restaurants. Responsible for inputting and follow up of all internal and internet bookings.  Creates a flawless experience for our guests while extending a very unique service.  


Minimum of one (1) year experience in a luxury resort in a customer service position.  Prior experience handling high phone call volume.  Exceptional phone etiquette and ability to convey warmth and graciousness.  Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. Detail oriented and able to multi-task. Proficient in Word and Excel.  Experience with Reservations systems or programs, Springer Miller System (SMS) preferred. A flexible schedule is required and must be able to work weekends and holidays.

The Concierge provides information to guests and visitor and coordinates guest requests for special arrangements or services, courteously and efficiently. Assists guests in booking itineraries (i.e. restaurant reservations, golf, spa and off-property activities and excursions). Follows-up with guests to ensure satisfaction with their special arrangements.

Minimum one (1) year experience in a customer service role. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Ability to write legibly. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Basic computer skills including the ability to use the internet and a reservations system. Strong sales skills without being overbearing. Ability to promote positive relations. Ability to focus attention to detail. Team player. Ability to meet department booking goals. Ability to walk guest through complete activity Experience from first question, explaining activity, booking activity, ensuring seamless handoff, and following up after experience to ensure best possible outcome for guest and hotel. Camp Counselor

The Camp Oak Counselor is responsible of the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa's "Little Guests" when enjoying their time at Camp Oak. They will help plan, organize, and oversee the daily activities provided at Camp Oak.

Minimum one (1) year of child care experience, preferably in education. Must have ability to lift 15-45 lbs and stand for a 6-8 hour shift. Must possess excellent people skills, professional appearance, and be a team player. Must have ability to read, write, and speak in English. A flexible schedule is required and must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Guest Service Agent

The Guest Service Agent performs check-ins and check-outs of hotel guests courteously and efficiently. Processes all payments according to established hotel requirements. Provides information to guests and visitors. Efficiently resolves guest issues and handles complaints forwarding to the supervisor or manager on duty when necessary.

Minimum one (1) year front desk experience. Ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Experience in guest relations and resolution. Ability to write legibly. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to multi-task while maintaining a hospitable and professional demeanor. Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions. Ability to work well under pressure. Bell Attendant

The Bell Attendant provides assistance with guest needs, hotel needs and department needs. Provides service to our guests at a consistent level in accordance with the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa standards and regulations. Provides a warm, hospitable greeting and salutation to all guests, realizing that the bell staff creates the first and last impressions of the guest experience. Ensures that all resort guests are oriented to the property professionally and offered services in accordance with their needs. Ensures that all guest items and hotel items are treated with care and respect and that safety is of the utmost importance.

Minimum one (1) year previous experience in a customer service role. Valid California Drivers License with a clean driving record. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Ability to write legibly. Team player. Clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Bell Captain

The Bell Captain supervises, trains, schedules and evaluates Bell Staff, ensuring that all procedures are performed to the hotel’s standards. Minimum one (2) year previous experience in a supervisory customer service role. Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Ability to write legibly. Team player. Clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments. Front Desk Supervisor

The Front Desk Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and training in all aspects of the Front Desk operations, in accordance with hotel standards. This position will direct, implement and maintain service and management philosophies which serves as a guide to the respective staff. The Front Desk Supervisor will assist hotel guests courteously and efficiently according to established five-diamond service standards. Process all payments according to established hotel requirements.

Minimum (2) years Front Desk experience, preferably at a five-diamond hotel. Ability to provide superb communication to hotel guests, employees and vendors. Ability to instruct and train Front Desk staff on details to use property management system (SMS, HotSOS, and various hotel software applications and equipment). Computer proficiency in the applications of; Excel, Word, and ability to learn company software applications. Ability to enforce hotel’s standards, policies and procedures with Front Desk staff. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, delegate work. Ability to direct performance or staff and follow up with corrections where needed. Ability to motivate staff and maintain a cohesive team. Ability to assess departmental training needs and provide such training in order to better operations and staff knowledge. A successful candidate will provide professional services and facials at Spa Ojai. Experience in the field is preferred. Candidate must possess current state license in esthetics or cosmetology and be qualified to perform a basic European facial, deep cleansing facial and waxing services. Fitness Instructor

Minimum of two years in a fitness or wellness role. Certified as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Proven track record of developing and implementing customized, quality fitness programming. Current CPR and first aid certified. Specialty qualifications to teach: cardio, resistance training, flexibility and balance, cycling, aqua, walking and hiking and meditation. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Massage Therapist

The Massage Therapist provides professional massage services at Spa Ojai, and is involved in the operation of the spa and guest service. They will be highly-trained and qualified in the latest treatments and committed to using the purest products of Spa Ojai. They will join a team that consists of highly educated, passionate, and accomplished spa professionals.

Requirements: A successful candidate must possess current state massage therapist license (CAMTC) and have 500 hours of instruction from an accredited school of massage therapy. Must possess current professional massage therapist liability insurance. Qualified to perform Swedish, Deep Tissue and preferably additional massage modalities. Must possess good communication skills (both written and oral) and make the guests feel comfortable during treatments. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and pertinent hotel information. A flexible schedule is required and must be able to work weekends and holidays. Minimum two-year work experience in spa setting is desired.

Resort Trainer

The Ojai Valley Inn & Spa is seeking a Resort Trainer who is experienced, knowledgeable in training and development strategies, creative, innovative, and a strong leader. This position is responsible for the development, coordination and facilitation of performance and service standards training programs. The individual must identify development needs and partner with operations to create, deliver, and maintain organizational development training programs. The successful candidate will be skilled in influencing and communicating learning processes, strategizing a long-term plan with senior managers and partnering with the operation to ensure successful outcomes. A minimum of 3 years previous experience as a Trainer at a luxury hotel or resort is absolutely essential. Fluency in Spanish would be a plus.

Reservations Manager

The Reservations Manager directly oversees the Reservation Department, Concierge and Discover Ojai Center. They oversee the day to day operations, develop and implement all future planning and development of these departments that support the resorts strategic direction. Develop staff thru training and education to perform at 5-Diamon levels. Achieve financial goals set forth in Budgets and Forecasts. Recognizes staff for good work and coaching when improvement needed.  

Horticulture Manager

The Horticulture Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the hotel grounds. Areas of responsibility include: hardscapes, lawn areas, color beds, shrubs/trees, houseplants, and floral arrangements. Will also maintain the Outward Bound area; budget, order and coordinate the decorating of the hotel for holidays; and clean and maintain all birdcages and birds. Requires strong interpersonal skills to work with all departments in the hotel, strong prioritizing/ organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven leadership qualities promoting a positive work environment within the department.


Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in commercial landscaping. Knowledge of the following: Irrigation, plant materials, herbicides, fungicides and pesticides, fertilizers and turf maintenance. Ability to diagnose plant pests and diseases. Ability to work with other departments in the hotel. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments; delegate responsibilities.
