Engineering 

Engineer II/Full-Time/$15.50 per hour

The Engineer II assists Facilities Technician III and conducts minor repairs and maintenance on plumbing, physical structure, electrical  fixtures, machinery, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, spa, kitchen and laundry equipment, using hand and power tools, electrician, and plumbing tools. Will complete work orders as assigned by supervisor; respond immediately to guest room maintenance requests, etc.; respond to emergencies; and perform necessary assignments to ensure guest and employee safety. This candidate will also back up loss prevention for emergency situations. A successful candidate must have basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, pool care, and hand power tools. Ability to work well with others. Ability to take direction and work unsupervised. Must possess excellent people skills, professional appearance, be friendly, courteous, and a team player, enjoy working with people; be well-dressed and groomed. A flexible schedule is required and must be able to work weekends and holidays.

 

Food and Beverage

Cafe Verde Server /Part-Time /$9.00 per hour + Gratuities

Must be at least 21 years and have previous serving experience. Able to stand for 8 hour shift and transport 35+ lbs. Must possess excellent people skills, professional appearance, be friendly, courteous, and a team player, enjoy working with people; be well-dressed and groomed. A flexible schedule is required and must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Maravilla Host/ess/Full-Time/$10.00 per hour + Gratuities

The Maravilla Host/ess is responsible for providing exemplary service at the Maravilla. This individual acts not only as a Host/ess, but also attends to guest services and the upkeep of cleanliness of the Host Stand and Entrance. With a very high degree of guest contact, the Maravilla Host/ess is ideally positioned to enhance the guest experience and plays an essential role in the resort's goal of exceeding high guest expectations. Remaining constantly aware of both the restaurant and Bar environments, engaging with guests, anticipating their needs and taking initiative to improve their stay will be focus areas for the Maravilla Host/ess. Minimum two (2) years hosting experience, preferably in the hotel industry and or upscale establishment. Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette. Must have ability to lift 15-45 lbs and stand for a 6-8 hour shift. Oak Grill Service Bartender/Part-Time/$9.00 per hour + Gratuities

Candidate must be 21 years or older. Minimum 1 year of bartending experience, preferably in the hotel industry and or an upscale establishment. Must have ability to lift 15-45 lbs and stand for a 6-8 hour shift.  Must possess excellent people skills, professional appearance, be friendly, courteous, and a team player, enjoy working with people; be well-dressed and groomed. Retail

Retail Associate/ Full-Time/ $11.00 per hour  

The Retail Associate is responsible for guest experience in the retail outlet: stocking, cleaning all shelves and fixtures/furniture, and all guests' shopping experience. They have high guest contact (in person or on the phone) and successful candidate requires a love of giving superior service, using a pleasant and calm voice with perfect diction, and 5 diamond standards adhered to. Must have: Ability to handle cash, credit cards and gift cards with accuracy. Ability to perform basic arithmetic including use of percentages. Ability to use email. Ability to count and record inventory accurately. Ability to prioritize the work for the day/week. Ability to read and effectively write, including maintaining filing system and logs. Ability to operate motor vehicle (for example: retail cart). Ability to lift and move approximately 30 lbs. including setting and storing in overhead areas. Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Reservations

Reservation Agent /Full-Time /$14.00 per hour

The reservation agent must enjoy making the sale by balancing their savvy sales technique and a gracious warm style of guest service that we demand. They must be comfortable handling high call volume, answering incoming Reservations calls in accordance with AAA Five Diamond standards. They assist guests in customizing their reservations through the Springer Miller System (SMS). They ensure detail accuracy and completeness and book and sell property activities including Spa, Golf, and Food & Beverage. Also contacts guests prior to arrival to ensure completion of the guest experience. Inputs internal reservations. Works cohesively as part of a team in completing tasks such as Next Day Arrival process, reservations booked, assists in running traces and cancellation reports. Minimum one (1) year reservations, sales or related experience. Requires prior experience handling high phone call volume. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Ability to perform basic arithmetic. Warm and welcoming demeanor and exceptional phone etiquette. Must have an outgoing personality, be friendly, courteous and enjoy working with people. Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding and difficult customer situations. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments. Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel). Demonstrate proficient typing skills. Ability to work cohesively as part of a team. Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment. Ability to focus attention to detail. Ability to multi-task. A flexible schedule is required and must be able to work weekends and holidays.

 

Rooms

Concierge/Full-Time /$14.00 per hour

The Concierge provides information to guests and visitor and coordinates guest requests for special arrangements or services, courteously and efficiently. Assists guests in booking itineraries (i.e. restaurant reservations, golf, spa and off-property activities and excursions). Follows-up with guests to ensure satisfaction with their special arrangements. Minimum one (1) year experience in a customer service role. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Ability to write legibly. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Basic computer skills including the ability to use the internet and a reservations system. Strong sales skills without being overbearing. Ability to promote positive relations. Ability to focus attention to detail. Team player. Ability to meet department booking goals. Ability to walk guest through complete activity Experience from first question, explaining activity, booking activity, ensuring seamless handoff, and following up after experience to ensure best possible outcome for guest and hotel. Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

 Bellman /Full-Time /$9.00 per hour + gratuities

The Bell Attendant provides assistance with guest needs, hotel needs and department needs. Provides service to our guests at a consistent level in accordance with the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa standards and regulations. Provides a warm, hospitable greeting and salutation to all guests, realizing that the bell staff creates the first and last impressions of the guest experience. Ensures that all resort guests are oriented to the property professionally and offered services in accordance with their needs. Ensures that all guest items and hotel items are treated with care and respect and that safety is of the utmost importance. Minimum one (1) year previous experience in a customer service role. Valid California Drivers License with a clean driving record. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Ability to write legibly. Team player. Clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

PBX/Full-Time/$12.00 per hour

The PBX  Operator provides prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all incoming calls and assistance for outgoing calls. Plays an integral role in dispatching emergency situations (i.e. fire, medical, power/system failure) by contacting the designated personnel for immediate assistance.  This position provides communication and support for every department in the hotel. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language, using correct grammar. Ability to write legibly. Must have a clear and articulate tone of voice; must be courteous and gracious and convey warmth through tone of voice. Ability to be a clear thinker and remain calm in an emergency situation. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

 

Spa

Nail Technician /Part-Time /$9.00 per hour + Commission

A successful candidate will provide professional services and nail treatments. They must be qualified to perform all aspects of nail care (standard manicures, French manicures, tips & wraps, nail repair, pedicures, foot/hand massage, paraffin treatments) using current techniques. They require CA cosmetology license or manicurist license. Must have professional appearance, be friendly, courteous, dedicated, organized, meticulous, and be team player. Excellent communication skills and a flexible schedule are required. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Leadership Positions

Director of Saftey & Loss Prevention/Full-Time /DOE

Our Director of Safety & Loss Prevention is the lead of our first responders, the Loss Prevention (LP) department, in managing claims. LP staff must respond effectively, timely and with a service-oriented demeanor to onsite injury, workers comp and lost & found claims. This critical role provides Safety and Loss Prevention leadership, best practices and support to all of OVIS. The qualified candidate must have at least (5) five years' experience in risk management, loss prevention or security with an upper-upscale or luxury resort hospitality property that had spa, golf, multiple pools and over 150 rooms onsite. General Manager/Full-Time/DOE

 

The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is recruiting our next General Manager for the beautiful five-diamond luxury resort in southern California! Our people are our most valuable asset and we need a hands-on and visionary leader to be the ambassador for our associates, Ojai community and owners. Our qualified candidate will bring solid experience in resort executive leadership at resorts of similar operational breadth including; spa, golf, pools, tennis, multiple F&B outlets, catering, conference services, club members and at least 250 guest rooms. The right-fit will include extensive experience in project management, hotel renovation, financial business acumen, sales & marketing and proven guest and employee satisfaction at an independent luxury resort environment.   

  • Build and steward brand loyalty and company culture.
  • Promote customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control resort programs.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales, training and operational efforts.
  • Prepare budgets, budget expenditures and approve capital expenses.
