Holly Adams-Kauffmann, Aromatherapist
Dr. Holly Adams-Kauffmann brings a reverence and sense of deep gratitude to sharing her passion for the aromatic realm of beneficial botanicals. As one of our resident aromatherapists for the past five years, she loves facilitating the opportunity for others to weave the pleasure and benefits of aroma into their daily lives.
Holly’s passion grew out of her studies at Pacific Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA where she obtained a doctoral degree in Depth Psychology. She also holds a Masters’ degree in Holistic Healing from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA utilizing a wide variety of complementary approaches, including herbalism and aromatherapy for healing on all levels at the Cottage Apothecary.
Holly’s foundation also includes artist, midwife, teacher, dance instructor, Ceremonial Director of the Southern California Women’s Herbal Symposiums and serving as the Presenter at the Ojai Valley Lavender Festivals and Central Coast Lavender Festivals for the past several years.
Holly’s personal and professional pursuits extend her love of nature’s botanicals to embrace the essence of her life at home, nurturing the fledgling I Love Lavender Farm. As artisan growers and distillers, she and her husband, John, create OJAI MISTS-Aromatics for Well-Being! These are Hydro-Distilled Whole Botanical Hydrosols for a richer therapeutic and healthier environment, made with love from the herbs in their organic gardens in the Ojai Valley.
Sherrie Dawkins, Aromatherapist
Sherrie Bitts Dawkins has been a practicing professional Aromatherapist for two decades. She graduated from Michael Scholes’ School of Aromatic Studies in Beverly Hills in 1995, followed by his Advanced Course, graduating with honors in 1997. In addition, Sherrie studied alongside some of the most prestigious teachers in aromatherapy including Robert Tisserand, Kurt Schnaubelt, and Jeanne Rose.
Adding to her experience, Sherrie is also a certified, licensed massage therapist, educator, speaker, and creator of custom products and scents.
She delights in sharing her knowledge and experience through various speaking and teaching engagements, and to anyone who appreciates the beauty, mystery and healing qualities of essential oils.
Sherrie joined the Inn five years ago as the Resident Aromatherapist and can be found in the Apothecary creating custom blends to awaken the senses.
Georgia Deutsch, Artist
Georgia has always had a passion for art, and has been drawing and painting since she was a child. After graduating with honors from Art Center College of Design where she studied Environmental Design, Georgia worked for several renowned companies in Los Angeles, including Laurence Deutsch Design, Michelle Ertzan Architect , and Ashkenazi Enterprises.
Georgia joined the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa family in 2000, where she worked in the Horticulture department. Her flair for art and design came to life in the magnificent arrangements she created for the property, from the one-of-a-kind holiday displays to demonstrating the art of distilling herbs in our Spa Courtyard.
In 2009, she began working as our resident Art Instructor at the Artist Cottage & Apothecary. In addition to guiding our guests along their creative path, you can find Georgia’s work throughout the resort from the unique painting in the Kuyam Loggia at the Spa to the custom Pixie ornaments that adorn the lobby during our beloved Pixie Season!
Pamela Frame, Artist
Pam has always been a creative, growing up with her artist mother who she began teaching art with in her teenage years. She studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design and her passion led to further studies including ceramics and watercolor.
Before joining the Artist Cottage & Apothecary in 2014, Pam owned and managed an art studio in Louisville, Kentucky where she enjoyed teaching others the gift of creating. She brings that love for the arts to the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa where she encourages guests to explore self-discovery and expression.
